Free Typing Test

Typing Test measures your typing speed in words per minute, counting five characters as a word, together with raw speed, accuracy and consistency. Take a 15, 30, 60 or 120 second test, type 10 to 100 words, a public-domain quote, your own text or a lesson, then review a speed chart, your most missed keys and your history.

Quick answers

How is WPM calculated?

Every 5 characters count as one word. Net WPM only counts the characters of words you typed correctly (plus the spaces after them); raw WPM counts everything you typed, mistakes included.

What is consistency?

It shows how steady your speed was from second to second. 100% means exactly the same speed all the way through; bursts and pauses lower it.
