Free Unix Timestamp Converter

Unix Timestamp Converter turns epoch time into dates in any IANA time zone and dates back into timestamps, detecting seconds, milliseconds, microseconds or nanoseconds automatically. Results come in ISO 8601 and RFC 2822 with daylight saving handled, a batch mode exports CSV, and a cron explainer reads expressions in plain English with their next 10 runs.

Quick answers

Seconds or milliseconds?

Unix time is usually in seconds (10 digits today), JavaScript and Java use milliseconds (13 digits). The converter detects seconds, milliseconds, microseconds and nanoseconds automatically, and you can force the unit.

How to use the Unix Timestamp Converter

  1. Read the live Unix time at the top, or pick the time zone for the results.
  2. Paste a timestamp to see the date (the unit is detected), or type a date to get its timestamp.
  3. Use Batch for many values at once and copy the table as CSV.
  4. Open the cron explainer to read an expression in plain English and see its next 10 runs.

Frequently asked questions

Does the converter handle daylight saving time?

Yes. Dates are converted with your browser's time zone database, so offsets change correctly around DST switches in every zone.

What is the year 2038 problem?

Systems that store Unix time as a signed 32-bit number overflow on 19 January 2038. This tool uses 64-bit values, so dates far beyond that work.
