Free PDF to Excel

PDF to Excel finds the tables in a PDF and exports them to Excel (.xlsx) or CSV, turning amounts into real numbers and dates into Excel dates. Ruled and borderless tables are both detected, and you can move column separators or draw a table yourself. Tables that continue across pages are joined, and OCR reads scanned pages.

Quick answers

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Tables are detected and the spreadsheet is written entirely in your browser.

Will numbers be real numbers in Excel?

Yes. Amounts like 1.234,56, (1,234.56) or 12% become numeric values you can sum, with a number format that looks like the PDF; dates become Excel dates. You can turn this off to keep the text exactly as printed.

How to use the PDF to Excel

  1. Drop a PDF. Its tables are found in your browser and outlined on the page preview, with a preview of the values below.
  2. Check each table: include or exclude it, switch between ruled lines and text alignment, drag the blue column separators or table edges, or draw a table yourself.
  3. Choose how to arrange sheets and how to read numbers and dates, then download Excel (.xlsx) or CSV.

Frequently asked questions

What if a table has no borders?

Borderless tables are found from the way text lines up in columns. If a column is split or merged wrongly, drag, add or remove the column separators on the preview.

My table continues over several pages. Can I get it as one table?

Yes: with “Join tables that continue on the next page” the parts become one table and the repeated header rows are dropped.

Does it work with scanned PDFs?

Turn on OCR to read pages that are only pictures. Ruled tables are found from the lines in the scan; always check the numbers.
