Quick answers

Are my videos uploaded to a server?

No. Decoding, preview, mixing and encoding all run in your browser with WebCodecs, WebGL and Web Audio. Your files never leave your device.

Is there a watermark or a time limit?

No watermark and no account. The timeline can be up to 4 hours long and the output up to 4K; long 4K projects simply take longer and need more memory.

How to use the Video Editor

  1. Open the Media tab and drop your videos, music, voice-overs and images. They are read on your device, nothing is uploaded.
  2. Press + or drag each item onto a track. Drag clips to move them, drag their edges to trim, press S to split at the playhead and Delete to remove; Ctrl+Z undoes any step.
  3. Select a clip and open the Edit tab to set position, scale, rotation and opacity with keyframes, crop, speed, color, a LUT, volume fades and transitions.
  4. Add titles from the Titles tab and import SRT, VTT or ASS subtitles from the Subtitles tab, then style them.
  5. Open the Export tab, choose MP4 or WebM and a quality, and press Export video. You can also save the audio as WAV, a frame as PNG, or the project file to continue later.

Frequently asked questions

Can I save a project and continue later?

Yes. Save project downloads a small JSON file with the whole edit, and the editor also autosaves in your browser. Media files are not stored: when you reopen a project, choose the same files again and they are relinked by name.

Which transitions and title animations are there?

Crossfade, fade through black or white, wipes and slides in four directions, and zoom in or out, with adjustable duration. Titles can fade, slide, pop or appear letter by letter like a typewriter.

Does the export match the preview exactly?

Yes. The export uses the same compositor and audio mixer as the preview, but renders every frame offline at its exact time, so nothing is dropped even when the preview stutters.

Which formats can I import and export?

Import MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC and common images, plus SRT, VTT and ASS subtitles and .cube LUTs. Export MP4 (H.264 and AAC) or WebM (VP9 and Opus), WAV audio and PNG frames.

Can I use it on a phone or tablet?

On tablets you can preview, trim, split and move clips with touch. A larger screen and a keyboard make long edits easier; exporting depends on the video encoder of the device.
