Quick answers

Where is my mind map saved?

In your browser's local storage on this device, automatically. Nothing is uploaded. Save a JSON file to keep a copy or move it to another device.

Can I write the map as a list instead?

Yes. Open the Outline tab and type one topic per line, indenting sub-topics with spaces or Tab. The map updates as you type, and edits on the map update the outline.

Frequently asked questions

Which formats can I export?

PNG and SVG images, JSON (to reopen and edit here), a Markdown outline and OPML, which most outliners and note apps can import.

Does it work on phones and tablets?

Yes. Tap to select, drag to pan and pinch to zoom; the toolbar buttons add, rename and delete topics.

Can I connect two distant topics?

Yes. Right-click (or long-press) a topic and choose “Connect to…”, then click the other topic. You can also summarize a group of siblings from the same menu.
